Emergency Alerts

SaskAlert is the Government of Saskatchewan’s emergency public alerting program that provides critical information on emergencies in real time, so you can take action to protect yourself, your family and your property.

An emergency alert issued though SaskAlert will let you know:

  • what the emergency is,
  • where it is happening,
  • provide instructions for you to follow to stay safe, and
  • advise you when the incident is over.

How do I get an alert?

  • SaskAlert Website
    Visit www.saskalert.ca
  • Broadcasters
Radio and TV will also issue all critical alerts issued by federal, provincial and local alerting authorities
  • SaskAlert App

Emergency Preparedness

The importance of preparing ourselves for disasters is universal. Emergencies can happen anywhere – at home or at work – and everyone must take action to prepare for emergencies in case something unexpected happens.

The Get Prepared Guide provided by The Government Of Canada has tips to help you and your family develop an emergency plan.

Knowing what to do is an important part of being prepared. The following are some of the risks in Waldheim and how to prepare for different situations.

Residents should also be aware that other hazards can trigger emergencies that may affect them. These emergencies could be bomb threats, chemical spills or infectious disease outbreaks.

On these pages, you will find practical information on what to do in case any of these specific emergencies should occur.

What To Do

  • Before an Emergency
  • During an Emergency
  • After an Emergency

Hazards

  • Floods
  • Severe storms
  • Tornadoes
  • Wildfires

Other emergencies

Getting Started is Easy

Being prepared for disasters and emergencies can seem like a big job. Many people don’t know where to start, so they never start at all. With Do 1 Thing you can take small steps that make a big difference in an emergency.

Do 1 Thing is a 12-month program that makes it easy for you to prepare yourself, your family, and your community for emergencies or disasters.
