Residential garbage is collected by Loraas every Thursday. All household garbage must be placed in the roll-out cart that is provided to residents at no charge. A serial number printed on the cart associates it with a specific address where it must remain if a resident moves, and the cart remains the property of Loraas.
Please have your garbage can off of the road as soon as possible after Thursday. This helps us maintain the road in winter and makes it a lot easier to plow snow. We are currently working on a system that will minimize the impact that the garbage truck has on our roads and hope to present that soon.
You can minimize the damage by the garbage truck to our roads by making sure that the wheels of your
garbage bin are on the paved surface of the road in the summer months. Thank you.
Please place the cart roadside by 7:00 a.m. on Thursday.
Always place the cart with its wheels facing towards the curb or edge of roadway
What cannot be put in my Loraas residential cart?
• Hazardous material such as wet paint, chemicals, or solvents
• Absolutely no ashes
• Sod, dirt, concrete or other heavy materials
• Construction or demolition materials including boards, roofing materials, or carpet
