In 2022 assessors with the Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency (S.A.M.A.) were in the Town of Waldheim re-assessing all the properties within the town. The Assessment Notice shows the results of the reassessment on your property(s) as conducted by the S.A.M.A. assessors. Assessment values are used in determining the amount of property taxes, both municipal and school division, each property is levied. The Assessment Notice also includes information on your property(s) such as legal description, civic address and classification of the property – residential, commercial, etc. Please review it carefully and if any of the information is incorrect please contact the Town Office.
The SAMA website www.sama.sk.ca is very helpful in explaining assessment and how the assessment affects your property tax amounts. To compare your assessment to similar or neighboring properties or to get a general idea of assessed values in the town you can also click on the “SAMAVIEW” or contact the S.A.M.A. Saskatoon Regional office at 1-800-667-7262 for more information.
If you consider that you have been wrongly assessed you have until May 2nd, 2023 to register an appeal using the attached form and paying the required appeal fee of $200.00. Please note you cannot appeal on the grounds of the amount of taxes paid.
For an estimate on your 2023 property taxes please contact the Town Office.
